So my old gal on the street, Dot, strikes again. This time a source close to her woke Monday morning to find this note on his car. According to Dot (as told by the owner) the car was parked on Prospect Park West and he only took the spot after he noticed someone else was having trouble parking there. He maintains that he did not hit the car -- it must've been the car who was trying to pull in before him.
He said to Dot (and she agreed) that the handwriting was clearly feminine and he questioned the mechanics of a woman being able to piss on his doorhandle without it being quite the scene.
When I first saw this pic I asked Dot if it was her car that had been hit. She responded: "Me? What are you, nuts? I've had the same spot in a garage on Union since 1976. Paid 600 bucks for it. Now I heard they go for like $36K. This was the car of a nice kid I know from the block."
Of course Dot didn't stop there: "Park Slope is becoming awful. Until recently it had a sense of Brooklyn still. Now its ALL Manhattan transplants or people from out of state. All assholes. The ones from the 80's are against the bike lane and wouldnt give a shit for dented bumpers.* Now we have assholes who are buying 2 bedrooms for 750K and cant afford a fucking spot in a garage and hang bumper guards and that's just AWFUL."
I went on to tell Dot that I was a transplant who couldn't afford a garage spot and took offense to her statement. She responded: "You? You're a doll. You're from Jersey. Your parents are from Hackensack for Chrissakes. That's like another borough. I'm not talking about kids from the Tri-state. Anyone who grew up watching Sue Simmons on Live at Five is the nuts in my book." Dot knows my love for Sue Simmons.
Dot ended our little phone convo with: "I thought the XOXO was a nice touch. This girl must be a real bitch. Which, of course, I can respect."
