Color Me Shocked: PPW Bike Lane Foes Won't Quit

Super hot photo via The L Magazine

Well FIPSters, the corpse is barely cold on the foiled PPW bike lane suit filed by Neighbors for Better Bike Lanes and Seniors for Safety, yet they've already made another spectacle of themselves. According to the Brooklyn Paper, attorney Jim Walden apparently has tons of pro-bono time on his hand because NBBL and SFS plan to sue the DOT AGAIN if they do not remove the bike lane. And the Brooklyn blogosphere is back on fire with bike lane fever! I guess it was nice to have the weekend off.

So who sums this news up the best? That would be Transportation Alternatives director Paul Steely White (awesome name):

“These malcontents had their day in court. The people of Park Slope have endured this reckless PR stunt long enough. It’s time to move on.”

But these people WON'T move on.  So I give to you:

A List of Sore Losers Who Handled Defeat Only A Smidge Better Than The NBBL and SFS Did:

  • Sarah Palin: For someone who was seemingly incensed that she wasn't able to give a Concession speech as a Republican Vice Presidential candidate, then made a career of being a dumbass whenever possible, probably because Tina Fey made fun of her for being a dumbass.
  • James Cameron: For putting a clause in everyone's contract stating that they had to say "James Cameron's visionary film, Avatar" when accepting various Oscars for the film (just my opinion, not fact), then making sour faces after losing Best Director to his ex-wife for an obviously superior film.
  • Kanye West: For acting like a sore loser on behalf of Beyoncé, and picking on a 15 year old like a crazy crack addict.
  • Marty Markowitz: BK Borough Prez who, after being fined for taking his wife to Europe on the tax payer's dime, ejaculated that he was going to "pay his goddamn fine."

And lastly, for claiming that DOT Commissioner Sadik-Khan's branding your law suit as "frivolous" was being condescending and "high-handed" I say you, Jim Walden, outshine all of the above.

I'm also going to take the opportunity to mention that the Magic 8 Ball was spot on in this case.
