9 Questions: Netta the WNYC Radio Producer

9 Questions is our semi-regular column in which attempt to get to the heart of someone's down-n-dirty "Brooklyn-ness," (or lack thereof), with the same nine simple questions.

Meet Netta: one of our many rad Twitter friends and an organizer of the upcoming NYC Twestival.

9 Questions

Name: Netta (please); aka Jeannette
Job: Marketing Coordinator and Freelance Producer at WNYC Radio
Age: 25

1. Describe Park Slope in 5 words:

I never do well with being constrained to a short list. I always have to explain myself (I live in South Slope btw, so my description is colored by that fact).

* entertaining
* close to manhattan
* eclectic and often purty
* DELICIOUS FOODS
* nice neighbors

2. Why do you live in Park Slope South Slope?

* Because it's so hella much closer to work than my old place in the NEIGHBORHOOD THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED. My new casa is within spitting distance of the train, and I can walk to the other lines if I really need to.
* There is always somewhere to park my car, and the neighbors LOVE my weiner dogs.
* I always wanted to live above a 99 cent store. because prospect park is amazing.
* Because my new place has a washer/dryer and the virgin mary in the dirt on the window (which my landlord refuses to have cleaned).
* Because when I do become a stroller slanger, I want to know what I'm getting into (but i'm not quite ready to move all the way into the slope).

3. Which subway line do you frequent most? On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being "I hate it with the fire of a thousand hot burning suns" and 1 being "its the best thing that's ever happened to me since the first time I got laid" how would you rate said subway line?

I ride the M to work, and if the MTA cancels it i'm going to kill. Ok maybe I won't do something that dramatic, but I'll definitely be wearin a gas face. I also ride the R a lot, AND I'm so glad i don't have to ride the bus anymore like i did all the time in the NEIGHBORHOOD THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED. I love the bus, but i do not like waiting for it in the cold, the rain, the snow ... you get it. The M - I'll give her a 4 (it would be a 1, but she's just a commuter train). Sadly, the R I will give a 5 because he gets me where I need to go most of the time, but he does really strange things on the weekend that messes up my partyin' ways. (ed note: we love that the M is a "she" and the R is a "he.")

4. Ever have any NY celeb run ins?

Uhhhh, do cewebrities count? Cause I see those peeps all the time. I'm sure I'll see some real live celebrities at NYC Twestival on February 12th.

5. Favorite Blog (aside from ours, duh)?
Lifehacker and..uh...mine.

6. Hunan Delight or Red Hot?

So I've never been to either of these places, and I have a feeling this might get me shot in some social circles...but at least i can now have them on my list of places to try!

7. If Park Slope were a tasty cocktail, which tasty cocktail would it be and why?
It would be what my friends and i refer to as a Yarrg. This is a drink that involves Captain Morgan, your leg up in the air and one hand over the eye while saying, "YARRRG." This drink best represents PSlope b/c there are things in the Slope that make you want to get a little sloshed and holler, but there are also things in the Slope that make you wanna celebrate. All of those things can be done most effectively while pretending to be a pirate.

8. Are you a:
yuppie?
hippie?
Wall street asshole?
vegan?
Locavore?
Communist?
Parent?
Medical Marijuana advocate?

I'm not any of those things. I'm a dancer, a volunteer, a hard worker, a comedian, and a damn good friend.

9. Will you be our friend?
It was love at first sight, FIPS. Fo reals.
